Scott M. Peterson, Founder, Investment Advisor

Scott M. Peterson ChFC is the founder and principal investment advisor of Peterson Wealth Advisors. Since graduating from Brigham Young University in 1986 Scott has specialized in managing money for retirees and helping retirees make prudent financial decisions in their various stages of retirement.

Scott has broken ground in the retirement planning industry as a pioneer in retirement income planning. He is the architect of the Perennial Income Model, a planning tool that helps retirees manage their investments throughout retirement.

As the author of “Maximize Your Retirement Income” Scott is often invited to speak about financial issues regarding retirement and he is a regular presenter at BYU’s Education Week.

Thanks to his three decades of research and his collaborative approach with legal and tax professionals in the managing of clients’ finances during retirement, he has positioned himself to offer unique insights on the issues facing today’s retirees.

During his time off, Scott enjoys spending time with his wife Tracie, and their five children. He also enjoys serving in his community in various civic and religious endeavors. He is an avid sports fan and loves the outdoors. When he’s not in the office you can find him boating in the summer, or skiing in the winter with his family.

Jeffrey D. Lindsay, Investment Advisor


Jeffrey D. Lindsay, CFP® joined Peterson Wealth Advisors in 2013 as an advisor and helps with the management of clients and investment portfolios. As a CFP® professional he is uniquely qualified to help with the development of your retirement income plan as well as any other financial planning or investment advice that you might need. He is responsible to help implement and improve your plan over a lifetime.

Jeff graduated from Utah State University with a bachelor’s degree in finance. He’s been a self- proclaimed “retirement geek” ever since. In 2009 he earned the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®) designation. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and five energetic children, serving in church assignments and singing barbershop music.

Mark P. Whitaker, Investment Advisor

Mark P. Whitaker, CFP® Joined Peterson Wealth Advisors in 2015 as our newest Investment Advisor. As a CFP® professional he prides himself in creating and implementing comprehensive wealth management solutions for our clients.

Mark enjoys helping retirees navigate financial markets–guiding them through the different stages of retirement. He brings an expertise in investment analysis and portfolio management.

Mark graduated from Utah Valley University with a bachelor’s degree in Personal Financial Planning.  Mark also serves as a sergeant in the Army National Guard. He was deployed to Afghanistan from 2012-2013 where he completed engineering operations in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Mark and his family live in Provo Utah. Outside of work he enjoys reading and spending time with his wife and daughter.

Sarah Bonkosky, Client Relations & Marketing Manager


Sarah is the Client Relations and Marketing manager. She handles the website, seminar bookings, and all client communication through letters, e-mails, appointments, and and is the friendly voice on the phone. She also plans and organizes client appreciation events and roundtables.

Sarah studied Photography at Brigham Young University-Idaho and International Cultural Studies at Brigham Young University-Hawaii and graduated there with a bachelor’s degree in Communications. She is certified as a Notary Republic. She is originally from Connecticut but has been in Utah for over 5 years. She is a vocal performer, a non-profit enthusiast, and loves to spend time with her new husband Jason.

Allen Padilla, Financial Operations Manager


Allen Padilla joined Peterson Wealth Advisors in 2016 as the operations manager, overseeing account management, portfolios, and trading activity.  He also provides investment research and insight to help your advisors implement the best wealth management plan for you.

Allen graduated from the University of Colorado with a bachelor’s in engineering, and also Colorado State University with a bachelor’s degree in finance.  Allen is excited to use his experience he has gained as an engineer for Motorola, a project manager for Agilent Technologies, and as an investment analyst and director of investments for Colorado State University Foundation.  Allen enjoys spending time with his wife Janeil and their three children.  He also enjoys woodworking, cooking, and serving in the community and in his church.

Karen Benner, Operations


Karen is working with Allen in the Operations department. She is assisting in the trading and rebalancing and other day to day tasks under operations. Karen studied at the University of Toledo in the business department. She was a licensed P&C Insurance agent and office manager for seventeen years. She later worked at Jeep Federal Credit Union where she was both a teller and an office manager.
She moved here from Ohio to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She has three sons and two daughters and nine grandchildren. She loves the outdoors where she can camp and hike and enjoy sports.

Cindy Camphuysen, Compliance Manager

Cindy is our Compliance Manager. She assures that Peterson Wealth Advisors stays compliant with federal regulations. She also handles the distributions from existing client accounts, sets up and modifies contracts (such as beneficiary changes), sets up or modifies systematic withdrawals on income accounts, and keeps client records up to date.

Cindy graduated from Utah Valley University with an AAS degree in Administrative Information Support. She also studied Child Development and Family Relations at Brigham Young University-Idaho. She is certified as a Notary Public. She is originally from New Mexico and has lived in Utah for 21 years. She and her husband, Duane, are the parents of five children and have 16 grandchildren. She enjoys interior decorating, home organization, reading, learning, sewing, and gardening.
